CHAPTER 4: THE NIGHT EVERYTHING BURNED

Two hours later.

The gala downstairs was still running.

No one knew the storm happening above them.

But Marcus had already made one call.

“Shut it down.”

Now the building was sealed.

Guests were being escorted out.

Lights dimmed.

Music stopped mid-note.

And in the hallway outside the suite, Isabella stood surrounded by security.

But she wasn’t crying yet.

She still believed she could win.

“You’re making a mistake,” she called out. “I’m the one you love, Marcus.”

Marcus walked out of the suite.

Slow steps.

Black tuxedo stained slightly at the cuff from helping Khloe.

He didn’t even look at her at first.

“I loved an idea of you,” he said finally.

Isabella froze.

Marcus continued.

“But the woman I saw in that footage… that wasn’t love. That was a mistake I should’ve ended months ago.”

Her face twisted.

“You think you can erase me?”

Marcus finally looked at her.

Cold.

Final.

“I already did.”

He nodded once to security.

“Take her away.”

Isabella screamed then—but it wasn’t power anymore.

It was loss.

And no one in that hallway moved to save her.
