CHAPTER 2: THE FOOTAGE THAT BROKE EVERYTHING
The hospital suite was no longer a room.
It had become a crime scene.

Khloe lay on the floor trembling, one hand still locked over her belly. Every breath she took sounded fragile, like it might be her last.
Marcus knelt beside her for the first time.
Not as a billionaire.
Not as a husband with secrets.
But as a man realizing something irreversible had already happened.
“Don’t move,” he whispered.
His voice cracked at the end.
Behind him, Isabella tried to fix reality with lies.
“She attacked me first,” Isabella insisted, stepping back. “Marcus, she’s unstable—she’s been jealous for months—”
But the elevator dinged.
The hospital director walked in.
Calm.
Controlled.
And holding a tablet.
“Mr. Thorne,” the director said quietly. “Before you say another word… you need to see this.”
He pressed play.
The security footage filled the screen.
There was no sound at first—just movement.
Isabella entering the suite.
Khloe backing away.
The shove.
The kick.
The fall.
A silence so heavy followed it felt like the room stopped breathing.
Marcus stood up slowly.
Very slowly.
Like something inside him had just broken in half.
Isabella’s lips parted. “It’s not what it looks like—”
Marcus turned toward her.
And for the first time in years, there was no control in his eyes.
May you like
Only something dangerous.
“You touched my child,” he said.
